On September 21, we’re joining a global celebration of clean energy and celestial wonder! A diverse coalition—grassroots organizations, solar experts, schools, workers, farmers, and artists will come together to launch Sun Day, a day of action celebrating solar and wind power and the transition away from fossil fuels.
Their message is clear: “Solar energy is now the cheapest source of power on the planet – and gives us a chance to actually do something about the climate crisis.”
We’re excited to join the celebration by shining a spotlight on our star, the Sun! We’d love for you to get involved, for example with a feature on our socials. Whether it’s sharing a scientific and/or fun fact, fascinating images, or even hosting a short talk or outreach event – your contribution can help highlight the astronomical perspective on the energy powering our planet.
If you want to contribute, please join our slack channel #how_can_i_contribute or contact Kathryn Williams.
