On August 12, 2026, a total solar eclipse is going to sweep across parts of the Northern Hemisphere of planet Earth. A small group of A4E-ers is gathering in Spain to witness the event and you are welcome to join!
Solar eclipses are one of nature’s most breathtaking spectacles, drawing humanity into a shared moment of wonder. For a few unforgettable minutes, day turns into twilight as the Moon completely covers the Sun. Few events place us so clearly on the same cosmic page. This sense of alignment is beautifully captured by A4E members in the video “Alignment of Planet Earth” (also available in Spanish and French, liked below). It offers a glimpse of what humanity could achieve if we truly worked together. At A4E, this is exactly the message we aim to share: caring for our home planet as one global community.
🇪🇸 Gathering in Spain
To experience this solar eclipse together, a small group of us is gathering in central Spain, in the Meseta region (chosen for its dry climate and high likelihood of clear skies). The intention is simple: connect, share, and experience the eclipse together. Family and friends are very welcome.
The tentative plan at the moment is:
- [optional] arrive the day before the eclipse, have dinner together
- [optional] some shared activity during the day of the eclipse, e.g. a hike and/or A4E discussions
- enjoy the eclipse together
- enjoy a dinner together after the eclipse
- stay the night
- share breakfast
- farewell
Accommodation has been arranged from August 11–13 (two nights) in:
- Olombrada (main viewing location)
- Sebúlcor
- Valleruela de Pedraza
Around 12 spots are still available, so feel free to join. You are also welcome to arrange your own stay nearby and participate in the shared activities.
